************************************************************CHAPTEREIGHT**************************************************************************

"Well try Hayley's cell phone again!" Mrs. Davis exclaimed throwing her hands in the air as she paced the living room floor.

Jeremy did as he was told and punched Hayleys number into his mobile. Ring "One," Jeremy whispered to himself. Ring" two..." he drew in his breath. Ring, the phone clicked before Hayleys voice filled his ear.

"Hey its Hayley leave me a sweeeeet note and I'll get ya back. Peace son." BEEP

"Uh, hey Hayles its J, just trying to see if you've made it home yet or not cuz my dad still hasn't come back so yeah if you could just let me know that'd be rad. See ya." Jeremy sighed uncomfortably, something was not right he knew but he continued to reassure his mother the complete opposite.

"He's been gone for almost two hours. No, something is wrong." Mrs. Davis turned to face Jeremy her eyes were full of worry.

"Maybe the car just broke down or maybe..."Jeremy was drawing up a blank, he had already used just about every excuse he could think of for the past hour.

"I'm trying the Farros house again, maybe Josh and Zac are home but just not picking up their phones." She reached for the phone in Jeremy's hand.

"Uh, mom, Jerms, I-I need to tell you something." It was Mitch. He stood awkwardly in the doorway.

"Well what is it honey?" Mrs. Davis asked quivering at the cold tone in Mitch's voice.

"Just please." He said looking to his mother's eyes for the reassurant love, love he hoped to see there after this point, he didn't want it to leave. "Please forgive me, I didn't know what I was doing."

--

In a dark room, lit only by the cloud covered sun-light creeping through the cracks of a boarded up window, in a house that held them captive sat four small figures.

They had been in there for at least 30 minutes, but it had felt more like 30 years. Hayley was sitting criss-cross on the damp wooden floor with Josh's head resting gently on her thigh. Zac and Taylor laid opposite her in a state of disgruntled sleep. She sniffled, it was so cold in there. In the room at the end of a long hall inside of a house that vaguely looked like the one from Monster House, you know, the one that's like alive. She traced over her thoughts of when they had first entered it. A long hall greeted them when they were first drug in, it had several rooms with closed doors branched off to its sides. Each door was the same shade of grey-brown with the same dull brass handle.

"Trapped." Hayley whispered unintentionaly aloud. No one stired from her voice, not even Josh, the one she wanted, the one she needed to have wake up right now. He was her best friend and her heart was filled with worry that if he didn't wake up, she didn't know what she would do.

Another hour passed, and Hayley had fallen asleep, her head and back resting against the wall. Zac and Taylor both shifted occasionaly in their sleep but didn't wake.

Josh's eyes opened, he was disoriented in the dark and confused about his where he was. He sat up and groaned, he had a killer headache. He looked around and saw two bodies laying on the floor. Zac and Taylor. Were they alright? Josh hurried over to them and leaned towards his brothers face. His eyes were closed but he was breathing steadily. Josh realized they were just sleeping. Then he spotted Hayley sitting uncomfortably against the wall with her head hanging foward. He crawled over to her. She was sleeping too. He sat down next to her and put his hands on his face.

' I was punched.' He thought to himself. ' Yeah, it must've knocked me out.' As he concluded this he too remembered that he, well of them, were hostages.

"Great." He said sarcasticly to himself.

Hayley stirred at the noise.

"Josh?" she whispered, his voice had seemed loud because he was so close to her. She turned her head in his direction. "JOSH!" She exclaimed, a huge ear-to-ear grin spread across her face as she hugged him.

"Whats up?" He whispered.

They both laughed softly.

"Are you okay?" She asked, she couldn't stop smiling.

"Yeah, um, I think so, good memory and all, not that I would remember something if I've forgotten it, if that makes any sense at all." He said trying to think the words out in his head.

"Ha, whats your head like? That guy decked you hard." She asked trying to look a bit more serious.

"Like I got hit by a freight train." He replied. Hayley let go of the hug she had him in and sighed.

The was a short silence.

"Do you think we're going to get out of here?" She asked leaning her head against the wall and looking to the ceiling.

Josh didn't know what to say, he wasn't sure what he thought.

" I sure hope so." He said after awhile. "There's so many things I still want to do."

"Yeah? Me too. I've always wanted to go scubaa diving." Hayley said staring aimlessly into the dark.

"Really? That would be pretty cool!" Josh said smiling. " I always wanted to be in a band of somesort."

"Whoa. Josh that'd be awesome." Hayley laughed.

"Yeah, I mean Zac and I have been talking about it for ages but it's just like, I think we have commitment issues or something." Josh sighed.

"I could totally be your singer! " Hayley said jokingly singing the scale in a cartoon voice.

"Don't even joke about that." Josh said chuckeling. " You have an amazing voice."

"Aw, it's nothing special." Hayley repiled simply, playing with the end of her hair.

"Come on." Josh said smiling at her. "You've got killer pipes."

"Oh, thanks" she said smiling, playfully puncing him in the arm.

Another silence fell between the two.

"I've never been out of the country before." Hayley said, trying to stir up another conversation.

"I went to Mexico once." Josh said. " Thats it though." He nodded to himself. " I've never broken a bone before."

"For real?" Hayley asked energetically as she leapt up slightly turning to face him. " Thats crazy, I broke my arm one time when i was like six, and than my other arm like two years ago, i fell off a swing." She paused. "I've never been on an upside down rollercoaster before." She said, feeling a little embarsed.

Josh laughed to himself. "Too chicken?" He asked taunting her.

"NO." She said defensivly although the answer was obviously yes.

"Are too." He mocked. "Well, it's okay I guess, I've never watched the ball drop in New York City before."

They played this game on and off, sharing laughs and giggles. After a short while their voices faded down and they both paused for a moment. Hayley was trying desperately to think of something she'd never done, but she was almost out of ideas. She sighed, perhaps that was a good thing.

Josh too let out a heavy breath. After a long pause he sighed. "I've never kissed a girl before. Well not like a kiss kiss." He said quickly. "Just like a little peck kiss."

"No way!" Hayley gasped. "But you went out with Karen Tango for two weeks..."Her voice trailed off.

"Yeah, but, I dunno like I said, I think I have commitment issues." He replied.

"Well," Hayley began after a short pause. " If it makes you feel any better I've never kissed a girl before either."

They both laughed, Josh turned to face her, her smile melted his heart. He locked his eyes with hers. She gazed back into his, his stare made her hands tingle. Josh grinned. Slowly, before he knew what he was doing he began moving his face closer to hers. Hayley's smile grew, she to began moving her face towards his. The both paused, their nose almost touching.

'I shouldn't do this.' Josh thought to himself. But Hayley quickly moved her face to his, their lips collided. Sparks were flying, Josh pushed harder, Hayley let him. Her mind was spinning, she felt like she was floating on a cloud, as light as a feather. Josh slowly moved his hands to her face and cupped her cheeks. She ran her fingers through his hair, just behind his ear. Hayley didn't want it to end but she pulled back slightly smiling once again from ear-to-ear. Josh mimicked this expression as well.

"Never say never." She whispered softly laying her head on to Josh's shoulder.

hey guys sorry its been forever since my last post, but you know how the holidays go, busybusybusy!! so i'm home sick today and now i finally have a chance to post my fic woohoo ---Enjoy!

***************************************************CHAPTERSEVEN*****************************************************

The man was spitting out directions every now and then. It was obvious he knew where he wanted to go, whether he admitted it or not.

"Excuse me, uh, sir, were on less than 5 gallons of gas." Mr. Davis called. The color was drained from his face and no emotion was in his voice.

The man shuffled around a bit and made his was to the front of the van. He plopped down in the passangers seat, slipping his gun out.

"Pull in at the station up here." He said, gesturing to an Exxon station they were approaching. Mr. Davis did as he was told and pulled into the empty lot. The dashboard clock read 4:30 AM.

"Fill it up." The man barked. " And don't try anything clever." The man than pointed his gun into the back row of seats. Zac gulped. Mr. Davis nodded slowly and slipped out the van door.

The man kept his eyes on Mr. Davis and his gun pointed on Zac, who was trembling with fear. After a few minutes Mr. Davis climbed back into the van, started up the engine, and once again instictivly looked at his passangers through the review mirror. He noted the ghost like expression on all of their faces, especially Zac's.

"Can't you just let them go?" Mr. Davis asked meakly. "They're only kids after all." He turned to face the man, and the man was grinning to himself as he slipped his gun back into his pants.

" 'Fraid I can't do that." He began. "We need ya'll."

"Um, we?" Zac asked very hesitantly.

"Need us?" Taylor followed. "F-uh for what?"

The man rested his head back on his seat, folded his hands across his stomach and snorted.

"Your son" He started pointing a finger at Mr. Davis, "Owed me and some of my friends a favor. But just couldn't keep up his end of the deal."

No one said anything at first.

"J-Jeremy?" Josh asked quietly, he couldn't quite believe it.

"Who? No, your other boy, Mitch." The man gruffed.

"You know my son?" Mr. Davis asked in disbelief. "No, not my son."

"Heh, you have no idea what your boys been into sir, no idea." He shook his head laughing.

"At first I was just supposed to take a hostage, just one, which was going to be his brother. It would have changed his mind about double crossing me again." He laughed again." I've been trying forever to get a hold of him but someone always had to be with him or sleeping infront of his door." He looked at Hayley.

"That was You.?" She asked in an agry tone, eyes widening.

"Yep honey." He winked at her. "That was me."

"But since i couldn't get him there, "He continued. "this little scene sort of put itself together for me. I mean I was just going to try to break into the house to get him, but when I saw you, " he pointed at Mr. Davis again "heading out to the van I thought you would have to do."

"No! Not my son!" Mr. Davis exclaimed in desperation. "I don't believe it, you've got him confused with someone else! Not my son!"

"Well believe it." The man sneered.

"Oh why? Why?" Mr. Davis whispered to himself, two tears escaped from the corner of his eye but he quickly wiped them away.

"But why do you need all of us?" Josh asked, although he was afraid he already knew the answer.

"The more the merrier!" The man exclaimed turning around to face them. "Welcome to the life of a hostage." the tone in his voice was threatening, uninviting, and chilled everyone to the bone.

Hayley cringed and Zac felt as sthough his sheart had fallen into the pit of his stomach.

"I suggest ya'll get some sleep." He said "It's gonna be a long ride."

No one wanted to sleep, not one bit, not when they didn't know what was going to happen next, but they could not deny the fact that they were all dead tired.

As the hour struck five, Zac had fallen asleep on Hayley's shoulder, and Hayley on Josh's chest. Josh had fought off sleep for as long as he could. He decided he would close his eyes but stay awake. He tried to ensurethis by opening them every minute or so. Eventually though, he could not resist the temptation anymore.

Only Taylor was awake, he was gripping the arm rest tightly and kept his brown eyes locked on the man.

The dashboard clock read 7:47. Taylor had not caught himself when he fall asleep but woke abruptly when the van door slid open.

"Get up!" A deep raspy voice yelled. The four jumped a bit, rather startled, and sat up, blinking in the light that had suddenly flooded the van.

Standing just outside of the door was a man none of them had ever seen before, he was tall, muscular, and not any better groomed than their kidnapper.

"Get out!" He yelled spitting onto the ground. Three other men were approaching the van as well coming from a very old, very tall house.

The four kids didn't move.

"Get out!" He yelled again, reaching inside and dyanking Taylor out the door, than throwing him onto the ground. Zac needed not further motivation, he quickly scrambled out followed by Hayley and Josh.

Hayley looked around, they were standing before a house with rotten wood siding and boarded up windows. It towarded over them, and embodied her with fear.

"Where's Mr. Davis?" Zac asked suddenly, Hayley looked around frantically, he wasn't there.

Hayley gulped. 'Where was he?' she thought while hating herself for falling asleep. Anything could have happened to him and none of them even noticed.

"Where is he?" Taylor asked angrily.

None of the four large men replied, instead all at once each man went for one of the kids and grabbed them.

"Let me go!" Hayley squealed, trying to wriggle out of the man who had grabbed her, grip. It was no use, he had both arms wrapped firmly around her stomach. He hoisted her up so that her feet could not touch the ground. She tried to fight to get herself out but her tiny frame was no match to his muscular structure of this man.

Zac was to frightened to even breathe, he didn't even resist as the man who had him firmly in both arms began draging him towards the house.

"Uhg, get off of me!" Josh yelled. He balled his hand into a fist and punched his guy square in the nose. Blood began dripping down to the mans lip. He gasped. Hayley foresaw what was going to happen next. The man than put Josh on his feet, grabbed him by the throat and struck him in his left temple.

Josh swayed back and forth for a moment before collapsing onto the ground. He was out cold.

"Josh!" Hayley screamed. "Josh!"
Her guy shoved his hand over her mouth.
"Shut up." He ordered. But his hand did nothing to silence her screams, only muffle them. She continued to shriek, her eyes wide as she watched Josh's limp body be thrown over the mans shoulder and get carried into the house.

heyyyy, thanks guys for all the comments yall rock.
luv
-erin
******************************************************************************************************************************

Jeremy's dad had taken the cue from the strange mans eyes to continue driving. Fear pricked at his skin, making him shudder. He was unsure if this man had anysort of weaon, but he knew he didn't want to find out the hard way. He kept franticlly checking on his passengers in the back through his review mirror. Their eyes were wide and their bodies were stiff. He knew he needed to say something, but he worried that he may say the wrong thing. Thoughts raced through his mind, ideas bounced back and forth, and sweat beads formed on his foredhead. With both hands placed on top of the steering wheel, he girpped it till he felt his knuckles strain. He checked on the teenagers through his mirror again, they had barely moved. A sigh of exasperation escaped from the side of his mouth.

"What do you want from us?" Mr. Davis asked, not reavealing the slightest inflection of the sheer terror he felt escape him through his voice.

"Shut-up and keep driving." The man snarled back. He gripped the row of seats in front of him, right between Hayley and Zac's shoulders. His hands were worn and cracked, wearing blackened fingernails at their tips.

Hayley and Taylor both exchanged brief glances but adverted eyes and looked down at their knees.

Zac knew this was not a time for any smart remark, but he felt he needed to say something, that the blur of confusion in his mind needed clearing.

"Where are we going?" he asked, unable ot stop the shiver in his voice.

"Somewhere..."The man began, keeping his eyes locked foward. "We just gotta get outta here."

Zac looked back at him nervously, and slowly the others shifted their glance to the man, even if it was just out of the corner of their eyes. He was wearing a hoodie that may have once been black but now had faded to a dull grey, with a few holes at the cuffs. His hair was dark brown and coated with a slick slime that happens when one goes a tad to long wih out taking a shower.

"Take a left up here." He spat, leaning back into his seat.

"Um, er, what are you gonna do with us?" Taylor asked suddenly. He kept his eyes down and fingers busy fiddiling with the draw string on his hoodie. He laced it around his thumb a few times before letting it drop. The man didn't answer.

"Cuz," Zac began, "I mean i won't tell a soul as long as I live about tonight if you let us go. Boy Scouts honour."

The man leaned foward once more, snickering, and grabbed the back of Zac's head. He brought his mouth up to Zac's ear.

"You know boy, I haven't quite planned that far ahead yet." He hissed. He realeased Zac from his grip and shifted his eyes onto Hayley, who had been sitting quietly next to Zac. A toothy grin grew across his face. He reached up one of his dirty hands and placed it on Hayley's cheek.

"Well not all of my plan." He sneered.

Hayley drew back sharply, giving the man a hard, cold look. Josh sqeezed her hand and pulled her closer to him.
The man winked at her still grinning. She glared at him and inched closer and closer to Josh, it gave her a sense of protection. The mans smirk quickly faded and he suddently grew angry.

"Don't you even think about touching a single one of them!" Mr. Davis yelled furiously.

The man whipped out a small hand gun from his pocket and pointed into the air. His fingers intertwining with the handle, his finger tips dancing with the trigger. Hayley gripped Zac's knee with her free hand, never taking her eyes off the pistol.

The man leaned back in his seat again and shove the pistol back into his pants.

"Shut Up no more questions." He demanded.

The horizon was a neon orange and the sun began shining beams through the van windows. They had driven for miles in silence, exchanging occasional glances but very few words.

Hayley tripped a bit over her own feet as she made her way through the dark living room over to the sleeping boys.

"Guys" she said in a loud whisper. No one stirred, not that suprising.

"Guys" she said louder. Still, no one moved. Letting out a sigh she walked over to Jeremy, deciding it was probably best to wake him first. She shuffled across the floor to where he lay and knelt by his head.

"Jerms" she hissed into his ear. she rubbed her arms, shaking slightly. "Jeremy" she said a bit more angrily than she meant to.

"Hmm..." He grumbled, turning over and reaching for a blanket to pull over his face.

"Jeremy" she pleaded placing both hands on his shoulders and shaking him.

"What?" He asked yawning.

"Some...someone just tried to break into your house. And ,uh, well your brother is on the phone with the cops."

Jeremy sat up suddenly awake and fully alert. He didn't say anything while he let her words process in his tired mind.

"Whoa." He managed to say after a minute or two.

"Jeremy, they were right by your door...and I don't know but..." She let her voice trail off.

"What?" He replied in all seriousness.

"It's just, something's off. Its, uhg, I think something is really wrong here, like ever since the other night at the hotel..." Her explanation was cut short as the room was suddenly filled up with light from ceiling to floor. Jeremy's parents walked in followed by a whimpering Red.

The other three sleeping bodies shuffled uncomfortably. Josh, sat up, sensing something was wrong, while Zac reached for a pillow to pull over his face mummbling "5 more minutes."

"What's going on?" Jeremy's step-mom asked, it was obvious she had just gotten up, her eyes were barely open and she weakly tried to tie her robe together in the front.

"Some one tried to break in" Mitch said coming up behind them, there was no emotion in his voice. Mitch, to Hayley had alway's seemed a bit strange, like he was more a machine than an actual person, especially in his voice. "But, I, um I called the cops." He fininshed.

Mrs. Davis, Jeremy's step-mom's mouth fell open slightly.

"Oh lord" she whispered.

Hayley hesitated but began to tell everyone her story.

"Well" Mr. Davis concluded. "How long did the cops say they'd be?" He turned to Mitch.

"I dunno." He shrugged simply and walked away.

Strange, strange, strange was all Hayley could think about that boy.

Josh was worried, he got up and sat next to Hayley. She rested her head on his shoulder and watched Jeremy get up and follow his family back into the kitchen. Taylor and Zac had both reluctantly gotten up sighed.

"Man that's kind of creepy." Taylor whispered, he was unsure of what to think, the whole situation just seemed odd.

"Yeah." Zac agreed. "I'm completely weirded out."

Hayley just sat silently, staring off into space. Josh, being a guy of few words, hadn't said much, but to felt like a heavy tension had blown over the whole house.

The cops came a short while after. A rather round one interviewed Hayley, and after a short pause between her story and the Mitch's decided they'd keep a cop car in the neighboorhood but doubted anything else would happen.

"These things rarely happen twice, especially in the same night." He had said, but failed to reasure Mrs. Davis or really anyone for that matter. "But we can't start do much more, based this story, or conclude much more since there is no physical proof." He said in a long drawled out voice, shifting his weight from his left foot to his right. "Sorry." and with that, all but one cop car had gone.

Hayley felt a pang of dissapointment. ' What if Red hadn't been here, anything could have happened.' She thought to herself.

"I think I better get you guys home." Mr. Davis said looking at Josh, Zac, Hayley and Taylor. They nodded in agreement and in a few minutes they found themselves stareing aimlessly out of the Davis's mini van windows. No cars drove by and no words were being spoken. They pulled up to a red light. A single volvo crossed the intersection in front of them. As the noise of the car drifted away, another noise arose. A noise coming from the back of the van. Mr. Davis whipped his head back. Slowly rising from the shadows of the trunk area, a figure emerged. Climbing over the seats row by row until he was right behind the four kids, who sat shaking in their seats, hardly daring to turn around, to face the man they all reconized. The man they had been bumped into on the side walk the day prior. The man who made them quiver with fear.

"Keep driving" he hissed through serpent like teeth. The whites of his eyes were stained yellow, most likely due to long term exposure to the sun. He let them glance over the terrified teenagers eyeing up each and everyone of them. His lips curled inwards to conceal a grin and he redirected his vision to the front of the van.

Hayley's hand groped the seat in search of Josh's. When she found it she gripped it tight, not daring, not even for a second to look back.

The bus trip home seemed like days were passing by. Hayley had eventually fallen asleep on Josh’s chest. His chest was slowly, gentaly, rising and falling and it kept up to the beat of his heart, the rhythm was so perfect once her head had fallen from his shoulder she didn’t even wake up. He laid his head genly on top of hers and stared out the window.
It was growing dark outside and the lights of passing cars illuminatd the small rows of seats he and hayley shared. Across the aisle, Zac and Taylor had long since stopped talking, Josh assumed they were asleep.
Staring blankly out the window Josh found him self reminissing over little things that had happened that day before he to drifted off to sleep.
It was almost two hours later when josh woke up, feeling as though he was being pressed to death.

“Zac”he grumbled, waking up to see zac sitting on his lap, looking ever so innocent.

“Uhg get off.”
With a slight hesitation Zac did as he was told.

“What gives?” Josh asked

“We’ll be home in ten minutes or so, so I thought I’d wake you sweetie.” He said in a high pitch voice pinching
Josh’s cheeks and gave a cheesy smile, before walking back to his own row.

Josh could hear Hayley give a little laugh, and he too smiled. He looked at Hayley and rolled his eyes, and they turned their attention to Zac and Taylor who had Jeremy sitting on his lap. They were all laughing at something Taylor had just said. Jeremy was laughing the hardest and failed to put a gummy bear in his mouth.

"OOH I want one!" Hayley said excitedly.

"Okay, open up" Jeremy said, calming down his laughter.

Hayley opened her mouth as wide as she could, sat up a trying to make herself taller.

"Ready" she called. Josh couldn't help but laugh at her face.

"One, two, three!" Jeremy called back before tossing the gummy bear across the aisle and into Hayley's mouth.

"Yeah!" she giggled as everyone clapped. The next thirty minutes passed by rather quickly and before she knew it, Hayley was gathering her belongings and exiting the bus. A wave of relief passed over her as she realized the trip was finally over. She walked with her friends to Jeremy's car. He was the only who could drive so he volunteered to take everyone home. Zac, and Taylor climbed in the back along with Hayley who was squished in the middle. Josh sat up front in the passangers seat mostly because he wanted to control the radio. The clock on the dashboard read 7:27.

"Hands up for those who want to stop for pizza." Jeremy said.

Everyone yelled and laughed throwing their hands in the air.

"Good." Jeremy said shoving the key into the ignition. "Someone call and get it to go."

Zac pulled out his cell phone, he had the pizza shop on speed dial. He hit the 7 key and listened for the ring than put it on speaker phone.

"You guys when I say to start barking" he whispered.

They laughed and wondered what Zac had up his sleeve.

"Hi this is Pizza Towers can I take your order?" The voice on the other end asked.

"Hi yes."Zac began, with an outrageous accent and a high pitched voice. "Me and my puppies hear are in the mood for some pizza. Do you sell pizza?" Everyone did their best not to laugh clamping hands over their mouths.

"Er, yes we do." The voice answered.

"Are you sure" Zac asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

"Yes, ma'am."

"WHAT!" Zac yelled, "I'm not a woman."

"Oh! Oh I'm so sorry" The voice replied after some hesitation. Hayley face began to turn red as she tried not to make a sound. Josh, who had turned around smiled back at her and watched his brother as he thought about his next move.

"Well" he cleared his throat. "I guess I will order some pizza than. Lets see, I want a large extra cheesy- cheese pizza with pepperoni, and- erm what do you want my doggies?" he put his hand over the speaker for a second and barely whispered for them to begin barking.

Hayley and Taylor exchanged glances and began to bark. Zac took his hand off the speaker.

"Uh-huh" He grunted, "Now are you guys sure you want anchovies, you know what it did to you last time."

They barked again.

"Alright but if you guys get gas you will be sleeping in the garage. Kay?" Zac motioned for them to stop. "Well I think I'll also have another large pizza, with black olives and, "he paused when he heard Hayley let out a little bark and looked up at her. She was shaking her head no with her eyes wide. "Um, okay no olives" He laughed, along with Josh, Taylor, and Jeremy who just couldn't take it anymore. "Just ham and pineapples" he looked back up at Hayley who smiled widely. "And that's all"

"Okay" The voice said, very quiet and very confused. "Your total is $19.50, your order should be ready in about 30 minutes."

"Thanks" Zac answered in his own voice and shut the phone.

They picked up the pizza's, took them back to Jeremy's house and gobbled them up in front of the T.V. as they intently watched Transformers. Not long after the movie ended they had all fallen asleep on Jeremy's living room floor. Everyone that is, except for Hayley. She didn't know what it was but something wasn't quite right again. The horrible feeling had overtaken her again and she hated it. After laying on the floor in between Josh and Zac who were snoring very lightly she decided to get up and go into the kitchen for some water. Jeremy's house was like her second house she didn't feel to awkward wander about it at night. As she entered the kitchen she stepped gingerly over Red, Jeremy's dog, who was lying in the door way. He sat up and looked at her. He didn't look excited like he usually did.
"Hey Red" She whispered to him. He than jumped to his feet and ran to the door in the back of the kithen which lead outside. He snarled at it. Hayley froze. Red's lip curled revealing his large kanine teeth, white and sharp. His snal grew louder as he stared at the door intensely.
"Wh What is it?" Hayley asked with a shaking voice. Hesitantly she made her way over to the door, and pulled aside a small bit of the curtian that covered the window on the door. It was still dark outside, with only the very early signs of dawn showing. She strained her eyes to see anything, but nothing looked out of the ordinary. Suddenly Red began to bark fiercly, the sound was ear piercing. It wasn't until than that Hayley saw a figure pop up from the infront of the door and turn to run away. Hayley was in shock, she backed away, from the door and the dog who begining to grow louder and louder.
"HAYLEY!" a voice yelled from behind her. It was Jeremy's older brother Mitch. "What is it?" he asked, unlike Jeremy's baby blues, his eyes were dark brown and menacing.

"There's..er there was a man outside" she stammpered.

Mitch walked over to the door and peaked out the window. He could just barley see a figure at the edge of his lawn running, running until they dissappeared into the trees behind his lot.

"I'm calling the police" Mitch stated leaving Hayley shaken in the kitchen. Unsure of what to do she walked back into the living room to wake the boys.
